PostSubject: Lord Vasag Xarxes   Lord Vasag Xarxes EmptySat Jun 26, 2010 8:42 pm

Full name of your character: Vasag Xarxes (Xarxes in game) Personal Title Lord

Character race:
Forsaken

Character class and level:
Warlock, 6 (recenty created, intending lvling up)

Character age: old, 50-60 something

Brief Character History:
Xarxes grew up within an rich family in Lordaeron. As they could afford servants heis parents never told him anything about human rights, so he naturally look down on the poor. Both he and his father had great ambitions for him. Xarxes were given the best tachers in the whole kingdom the learn him skills as an mage. As his family wasnt religious the great paladins were really nothing he crave for being. Xarxes with help of the teachers learnt how to easylli handle the magic.

As reaching his twenties (20) he was accepted as an apprentice for one of the mages of kirin tor. He developed new skills with great success. He used to spend long hours sitting by an fire in his quarters reading heroic tales. The more he read the more he wished to become an tale of his own. He prefered the more destuctional, fiery magic.

At his age as twentyeight (28) he was promoted, now an real mage of the kirin tor. A fire mage he became. But still power he craved... Although he could enlit an house with great ease, he didnt felt he was strong enough... atleast not enough to become an tale, an myth. As he now had enough rank to reach to more old and secret libraries, he started looking for if he could find anything about anything more powerful in magic. He learnt as master how to inscribe, how to put his magic into paper. To write scrolls of protection. The years flew past, he reading more, going to different missions in name of kirin tor.
In ne of them he was sent to Northrend, to aid some biologist with protecting while they were dissecting some big, different looking spiders. He felt most of tme there an chilly precence, and an greaer urge of power. He remembered suddenly an bookshelf in the Lirarium of Dalaran, where he could find different magic, but similar to fire. He found books he never seen with great ease like if he knew what to look for. Many pages were written in an weird, but beutiful script, he thought. An book translating it he found later... Trying to say those words in one page he opened some sort of portal, similar but not to those made by other mages. his one had fiery runes skipping around it. He managed to see an small creature in the other end, it were holding fire in its "hands". But the portal had drained his powers, and Xarxes passed out.

Xarxes woke up, weak. No spell he ever cast before had effected him like this. This must be power... if he only could learn enough, without passing out, he could become the grand master of kirin tor. He had never seen this magic welded before, it couldnt be one of the magics allowed by the other mages. In secret ad darkness he started to train, only reading the books in moonlight. As days passed by he ate less, slept less. He felt weaker in daylight and stronger in darkness.

He learned enough to start being able to bind demonology magic into paper. As he grew stronger he maddened, wanting more and more power. He put the title lord in his name. Lord of ire and demonology, only the first in public.

Towards his fiftieth (50) birthday, he got told to spend his time with his long seen family in Lordearon. Used to hearing voises, he agreed it was an good idea. He could show his father his skills so he could be proud of him. It just happened to be the same day as Arthas rejoined his father again after being to war in the lands to the north. In the middle of his party, sharing an bottle of whiskey with his father showing off his skills (both of them) the alarms sounded and rumors spread "Arthas has murdered his father".
Chaos erupted and as an soldier of lordearon slammed up the doors of the room where Vasag and his father sat, he interupted an play of shadow magic. The veteran soldier had seen lot of magic used during his days of war, and the magic Vasag used was banned by kirin tor. The soldier approached the Xarxes but as he pulled out his sword to arrest Vasag, father Xarxes strikes at the guard, stabbing at him with an sharp dagger. The soldier dodges and strike father Xarxes with his sword. In an shock of rage Vasag let go an shadow bolt at the guard, killing him instantly. Vasag kneels near his father, his father tell Vasag that he has become an powerful mage, not to be messed with. And hope his name, their name shall be one remembered for great things, lastly giving Vasag the dagger, bloody as it is, telling Vasag that it has been through their family all since his grandfather killed an thief, using the same like shadow bolt as he, his son recently killed the guard with.

Vasag Xarxes knows it wont be long until the guard is found, so he try to find shelter out on the land outside of the big city of lordearon. Perhaps to find Arthas, as they now have an common enemy, the kingdom of lordearon. An voice who has guided him before (an voice much more cooler than the others) tells him to travel north towards the elven city of Silvermoon. There he meets up with Arthas who, after seeing the strenght he have grown, he pledges loyalty to.

The voice inside of him tells him that if he want to serve him and Arthas, he have to die first... prove he is loyal towards them. Xarxes get promised that if he commit suecide, he wont be resurrected as an mindless slave. As the only blade Xarxes owns, he stabs his grandfathers dagger through his stummage (harakiri style).
Ner´zhul keeps his promice and let Xarxes to have his mind left, but not in the same magical strenght. His fire magic weakens to give room to more demonic ones.
As Xarxes is proud of be serving such powerful entities he feel like he didnt made the best choice. His cravings for power hasnt slowed, but he knows he cant reach higher peaks than he are at now... The lich kings grasp holds them back, he doesnt feel free.

But at the moment as Ner´Zhuls power was weakened and Sylvanas escaped, Xerxes took a daring leap too. Even if he now was free he noticed that the magic skills Ner´Zhul had stripped from him... he didnt have anymore. Knowing now that alone he cant fight he joins Sylvanas and the forsaken, seeing it grow every day, he know he made the right choice.

As for his lost skills. He is immortal now, he have all time in the world to relearn everything.

Overall Description:
He is extra skinny like he has starved. His face looks old and it has rotten a bit. He prefer dark clothing. Although he´s look weak and walks slowly, with his back bent, he doesnt really like the usage of staves. Daggers is prefered.

Personality: Reason he dont walks with staffs are that he dont want to show any sign of weakness.
People in his old life was calling him mad, people still do... but he is undead now, who isnt mad. Razz
Even if his name means tracherous (in rl) he call himself only as Lord Xarxes... only those close to him know his first name, those few there is, if any.
His craving for power can thake upper hand on some decisions.
He hate the Humans and the scourge, for as he once were one, they did only suppress his powers and killed the ones he cared of.

Hobbies and small pleasures: Xarxes is fond of writhing and reading. In some of his writhings he infuses dark magic runes into the paper.

Why does he wish to join the House? The house is one of the more powerful of the forsaken groups. As Xarxes only after the best, here is where he belong... The upper regions of the Forsaken.

Where did he hear about the House? He have spoken to (not ic) its members, by hearing and watching how they move and talk, he have noticed the House is the closest to our Lady. Those who form the upper bracckets of Forsaken society.

Rate your character's power oon a 1-10 scale, 1 being a lowly beggar, 10 being the Lich King / Illidan / etc:
about 5 now but as he learn more... 6 at 60, 7 at 70 and 8 at 80

Hope it bacame long enough Razz

Certainly long enough! always a big plus when someone really invested time into the application. : )

Small pointer: We try to keep suggestive involvement of (high profile) lore characters very limited.

So while it would still be acceptable to have pledged loyalty to arthas and serving him, noting the lich king made certain personal promises to you is more questionable.

If you just fix this little detail, i see no reason why you should not be considered a recruit.

On the contrary, i believe the house could put Varsag Xarxes to good use, be he deemed worthy.

You may whisper a House-member ingame and we can set up a proper hardcore IC interview :K

Hm.

The well portraited story is a bonus and it shows you took some time with this application, and despite the typos, that is appreciated. Im a sucker for character profiles.

I have nothing to object, poke an Officer in game to arranje your IC interview!

Good luck!

Thanks...

ye.. well the longer it became the more typos Razz

Lets see if i can come up with anything about being less loyal to Arthas.

7,8 "column" ill change a bit.

There he meets up with Arthas who have grown very powerful it seem. And as Xarxes will be wanted through the Human kingdoms he joins Arthas in his cause, partially blinded by his craveing for power.

The voice inside of him tells him that if he want to serve him and Arthas, he have to die first... prove he is loyal towards them. To be an powerful person alive or dead did not seem to matter for Xarxes at the time. He get promised that if he commit suecide, he wont be resurrected as an mindless slave. As the only blade Xarxes owns, he stabs his grandfathers dagger through his stummage (harakiri style).
Ner´zhul keeps his promise and let Xarxes to have his mind left, but not in the same magical strenght.

Well i gueessed that Ner´zhul (lich king) promised things to many ppl and didnt fulfill them... but for once he actually did keep a promise... well an powerful warloc is better than an mindless ghoul.

The point is, and lore-wise speaking, Arthas didn't "promise" anything to anyone. He'd rather kill Xarxes without even saying a word and raise him as he saw fit, either a mindless ghoul, a member of the Cult of the Damned if he was powefull enough, or a Death Knight, if he was a known hero or champion from the previous wars.

And Ner'Zhul was consumed by Arthas as soon as he fell into his deep sleep, so there is no Ner'zhul anymore.

So long as you don't mention it IC'ly on your interview and edit that section ( on the original post, don't need to make new posts everytime you wanna edit something ) is should be ok.

Ok now i understands the flaw in my story...

Ner´Zhul did exist by then though... it was before the dream, before they had met, just after Arthas returned to lordearon to murder his father, and was on his way to the sunwell to bring back Kel´Thuzad. Or at (now) Silvermoon.

By tho options given id think id prefer to be an cultist a while, but somehow during the war he die and when Sylvanas brake free Xarxes does the same.

Well... i think of that later, now im gonna log online and see if i find any of ye. Wink
